A South African buddy cop movie set in Gauteng. An unlikely pairing of clashing personalities leads to the havoc and choas.
The Title
K.I.S.S – Keep It Simple Stupid, sometimes you don’t need a grand execution, just something concise that gets the message across
VFX
As part of a 3 man VFX team, I got my hands on a fair amount of shots from the movie. Alot of them ended up being “Add blood and bullets”. However, I had the specific task of execting on the fall scequence, movie opening title, and modelling the train
The Train
Completely done in Blender and rendered out via the Octane engine, This sequence presented a lot of challenges, but all the usuals in a VFX pipeline. Without the leeway to show off much of the 3D workfor the scene, the edit had been compiled earlier leaving little room and a few frames to make the most of.
Such an execution ended up requiring my the hand animate the figure and clamp them on a curve I could manipulate along the building scale in order to hand pick moments/frames for a specific shot.

Phone Pop-Ups
To ice the vfx cake, well have a bit of screen pop ups sprinkled here and there. All done in After Effects of course.
